Problem: You are having difficulty connecting to your FTP server hosted in Windows with the following error message;
Command: PWD
Response: 257 "/" is current directory.
Command: TYPE I
Response: 200 Type set to I.
Command: PASV
Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,x,xx).
Command: LIST
Response: 425 Can't open data connection.
Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing
Cause: Windows Firewall is blocking the required media ports.
Solution: Configure FTP service on the network adapter.
1. Start - Control Panel - Windows Firewall
2. Click on the Advanced Tab
3. Click to select your Network Adapter (Local Area Connection) - then click Settings
4. Put a check mark on FTP Server.
5. Click OK
